Special ... Week 6! 

The 2004 season got underway on 8 June 2004.  There were about 20 volunteers from various parts

of the USA, including Hawaii & a couple from Israel.  Dr. Rami Avav's main objective is to search for

more solid evidence that will help establish the date of the foundations of the city.  So far the evidence

shows that Bethsaida was a 10th century BCE city.

This might help to conclude that David & Solomon were real people, as stated in the bible, & not myth-

ical characters as is thought by some.   It would be exciting if we would find the marriage certificate of

David & Macah - we'll keep dreaming about such a spectacular find.  The University of Nebraska,

Dr. Nicolae Roddy of Creighton University did advance coordination for the excavation and is respon-

sible for the fine groups of volunteers who are assisting Dr. Avav.  Many thanks to Dr. Roddy.
