Every fall, UNO's Global Studies Conference draws academics, students, and practitioners to Omaha for discussions about the world's most urgent development issues. Topics include Afghanistan, Africa, Food security, Nation Building and Democratization, Water shortages, Healthcare, Environmental Degradation, Global Climate Change, and more. This year's keynote is Roberto Lenton, the Founding Executive Director of the Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute and Professor of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is a specialist in water resources and sustainable development with 40 years of experience in the field.

The Annual European Studies Conference brings together individuals diverse in disciplines, but united in their interest in the area between the Atlantic and the Urals. Interdisciplinary panels, workshops, plenaries, and performances bring perspectives and insights that have earned the conference a reputation for high academic quality. The conference is coordinated by UNO's Department of Foreign Languages and Literature.

Each fall, UNO hosts the Batchelder Biblical Archaeology Conference, which draws leading authorities on Biblical history from around the world.
