Guidelines for Conference Participation

1. A podium is standard equipment provided for each presenter. Please note that we cannot provide computers or laptops, although presenters are welcome to bring their own. We have limited Smartcarts and PowerPoint projection equipment. The use of ovehead projector and slide projector may be arranged if requested prior to 14 September 2009. If you need a slide projector or VCR, please notify us via email before 1 September.

2. If you did not include a curriculum vitae for each presenter or a 30-word summary for each paper, please send them to the conference .

3. The 2009 Preliminary Program will be available Fall 2009.

Format

1. The Preliminary Program will be available Fall 2009 on the Global Studies Conference web site and will give you specific information for each panel on which you will serve as a chair or presenter. The date and time of your panel and the names of the other panelists will be listed. Should you wish further information on your co-panelists, please contact the chair of your session.

2. The panel sessions last 75 minutes. If there are four speakers on your panel, each speaker will have 10-15 minutes for his/her presentation; if three speakers, 15-20 minutes per presentation; if two speakers, 20-25 minutes per presentation.

3. Presenters are asked to respect their fellow panelists by limiting their presentations to the time allotted. Chairs are asked to keep the presenters on track and to facilitate the ensuing discussion.

4. If you have additions, deletions, or corrections to make to the Preliminary Program, please let us know as soon as possible to ensure that the final program will reflect those changes.

We ask that you pay your conference fees no later than Wednesday 2 September 2009. Please see the method of payments, to ensure ease of your transfer of funds. Presenters who are not paid by 14 September 2009 will not be included on the final program.
