31st Annual Global Studies Conference

The 31st Annual Global Studies Conference will be held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2-4 October 2008.  Some topics of interest at this year's conference include:
  • Orientalism vs. Occidentalism
  • Impact of Terrorism on Global Affairs
  • Images of Religion and Politics
  • Trends in country building
  • Cultural integrity and globalization
  • Democracy building and terrorism
  • The difficulties and limits of peacekeeping
  • Economic and social development in urban and rural areas
  • World literature and fine arts
  • Gender issues in the developing world
  • Religious and ethno-nationalist conflicts
  • The spread of HIV/AIDS and other medical challenges
  • Problems and solutions in education
  • Protecting human rights and combating terrorism
  • Foreign (or international) trade, foreign aid, and foreign direct investment
Your registration fee for the Global Studies Conference includes admission to the University of Nebraska at Omaha's European Studies Conference, giving you access to two conferences for the price of one.
